The brake pedal mounting allows a place for the brake light switch to sit, so it can be activated when the brake pedal is pushed down. Since the mounting is made of plastic, it can easily be damaged when working around the pedal assembly, possibly leaving you without a properly functioning brake light switch. Replace your damaged brake pedal mounting to restore proper function to the brake pedal.
